Paper poinsettias and Christmas trees

I started the season making paper poinsettias.  I used a leaf shape from the Flower Shoppe Cricut cartridge to make the petals  I used the same shape in four different sizes.

I used a bamboo skewer to "draw" on the veins and a little flocking for the centers.
I glued them to clothes pins to attach them to gifts.

This was one of my harebrained ideas.
I was asked to decorate a benefit party.
I didn't have much budget, so I thought I could buy a
stack or two for $15-$20 (on sale) and make 100 paper trees.

The first 10 were not so bad, the next 90 was another story.  I did get them all done. I used my gypsy to make a cut file for the cones and George and Basic shapes for the stars.

I had all different sizes, colors, and patterns.
They really did add some color to a very beige function hall.

I used wrapping paper to add  a runner to the tables.
I had about seven trees grouped in the center of each table and the rest were scattered about next to some candle holders I dressed up with leftover paper.

Merry Christmas!

Noah's Ark Invite

This is a simple invite that I made for my son's second birthday.
We decided to use a Noah's ark theme.
Two by two.

I love how they look in the vellum envelopes.
I used George and basic shapes and Animal kingdom cricut cartridges.

I used my gypsy to lay out the animals and design the ark.
After the images were cut, I placed colored paper behind the cut outs.

I printed the info on a piece of white cardstock and glued it inside.

I am entering this in the  Decorate to Celebrate birthday challenge.

I should have birthday decorations to post in a couple weeks.

Thanks for looking.

Children's Wall Decor

I made this for my two year old neighbor's birthday
and it happened to fit the theme for
Fantabulous Cricut challenge #81 – Décor and More

This was my first attempt at decoupage.
I used a 12x12 canvas and painted it first with acrylic paint.
I used the Home Decor, Mother's Day bouquet, Flower Shoppe and Kate's ABCs cartridges.

I layered the background paper, name and frame and sealed them with several coats of Mod Podge.
I used a foam brush and coated the flowers as well.
When everything was dried I added a touch of bling.

Boo Banner

This is my entry for the My Craft Spot design team call.

My 4year old has been asking for some "spooky" decorations.

I didn't have any Halloween cartridges, so I used my Gypsy and made a couple of ghosts out of mushroom stems and welded a wavy bottom to it.

I used the Sugar and Spice Cricut cartridge, Cricut Classic Font, Cindy Loo, George and Basic shapes.
The polka dot, white glitter and orange glitter paper is DCWV. The black paper is Colorbok.
The bright orange is from the Recollections "South Beach" pack.
I used the Sizzix Diamonds embossing folder on the black centers of each tag.
The orange gingham ribbon is Basic Basic.
Black satin is Midori.

Purple and chartreuse wedding

These are a few pieces that I made for a wedding.
The arrangements are made on tall glass candle holders.
I made the flowers with the Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut cartridge
 and my gypsy.

The fresh flowers are going to be green cymbidium orchids
and purple lisianthus.  These are going to be used on the candy table.
The bride will have them for a keepsake after the wedding.

My paper version of a white cymbidium orchid.

The toss bouquet is a mini
version of what the bride will have in fresh.

Mr. and Mrs. fans for the bride and groom.
Hopefully they will use them for photos.

I am entering these into Challenge #7: Wedding, Engagement, or Bridal Shower at

Summer Wedding

Sorry I have not posted for a while.
I lost all motivation.

Here are a few things that I did for a wedding this weekend.
All I was told to do was "decorate".
All I knew was that they liked pink and white and gerbera daisies.
Here's my take.

I made a couple of arrangements on tall clear glass candle holders.
(My updated take on a topiary.)
I had about twenty candle holders with monograms and seventy five paper
gerebera daisies scattered about.

At the last minute, I decided to pin some flowers on some apples I found.
Glad I had pins in my toolbox.

Thanks for looking.

Wedding Wreath

This is my entry for the
Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #13, the theme is "Wedding (must use ribbon)"

Home Decor for the flowers and leaves.

This was my entry for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog # 58.
I made top 5. This was my first challenge.

I used the Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut Cartridge

I made these for gifts for May Day.
